Today's Local Forecast
Today will be another day when you might want to pack your umbrella if you're heading to work or class in the afternoon. This morning, cooler temperatures will be in the low 70s before we warm up to our high of 86° F. A 60% chance of rain is forecasted today with showers and thunderstorms likely arriving around 2 pm. This evening is expected to be clear with the possibility of a stray shower.
Don't put your umbrellas away just yet, because tomorrow morning there's a chance for more rain. Once those showers clear out past noon, it'll be another warm day in the mid-80s.
What's Going on this Weekend?
It is looking like it will be nice and sunny just in time for Family Weekend. During the day, we'll be getting pretty warm in the upper 80s, and cooling down into the upper 60s at night. Great weather for seeing the football game on Saturday or having a picnic at any of our local parks.
Tropical Weather
Yesterday, Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) Eight moved on the shore of North and South Carolina. The system is no longer classified as a PTC, and it is slowly dissipating on land. There has been a lot of rain associated with what is still around though, and since yesterday parts of the Carolinas have been getting flooding rain. Rain from this system is expected to continue to make its way north into Virginia and across the Northeast.
Gordon is now a Tropical Depression lingering in the Atlantic, expected to stay out to sea and not impact any land.
